WHO WE ARE
At VERSA5, we are a boutique movement studio offering dance classes for every age. We continue to train our dancers on spatial awareness, rhythm and most importantly alignment. Our teaching philosophy derives from an anatomical background and understanding how the body moves through space. All of our choreography and costumes are age appropriate and family friendly
Our studio is the perfect place for a young child to take their very first dance class and a welcoming learning environment for the more serious dancer to training from working professional. Located in Downers Grove, IL in Green Knolls Shopping Center we offer ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, lyrical and more for ages 2+. We also have fun adult class offerings throughout the year!

OUR MISSION
To provide students of all ages with the skills they need to enjoy dance for a lifetime. Our goal is to offer the highest level of dance education and develop versa-tile performers. Over years of training, students will continue to expand their understanding of movement.
OUR STORY
The studio was started by Karen Ann Morgan Blonn as the Blonn Dance Academie located on Belmont Ave in 1984. In 2000, Patricia Michalak Rielley became the Artistic Director and renamed the studio to The Dance Academie. A few years later and after moving locations, the studio became Bluestone Academy of Dance and Music until 2017. That year marks the beginning of VERSA5, under our new name and new location on Main and 63rd. In 2024, we will be celebrating 40 years of dance in Downers Grove!

We are excited to reopen our lobby this season! However, we have limited space and we prefer to use this space for our dancers and their belongings! If at any time the lobby becomes too crowded, we may have to ask you to return to your car until class ends. This is a great time for you to run an errand, catch up with a friend in the parking lot or even go for a quick walk!
DiscoverDance and KinderCombo: You will need to escort your dancer to and from the classroom.
Dancers (Grades 1+): We welcome you to escort your dancer to and from class if you would like to do so. If your dancer is familiar with VERSA5, dropping off at the front door is preferred! We have fabulous teaching assists to help your dancer while in the studio and help direct them where to go.
Parents/Caregivers: If you are coming inside the studio, please plan to enter the building no more than 5 minutes prior to the beginning and end of class time when dropping off and picking up your dancer. You are always welcome to use our restroom, drop off snacks/water for your dancer, etc! We just want to make sure we can prioritize the lobby space for our dancers. Thank you in advance for understanding!
If your dancer has multiple classes with a break in between, they are welcome to wait in our student lobby area until their next class begins.
