Deanna Thompson, Owner & Artistic Director

DEANNA OWSLEY THOMPSON grew up in Lisle, IL and is an alumna of Columbia College Chicago, where she holds a Bachelor of Arts in Dance-Choreography. After graduation, she moved to Baltimore, MD and taught throughout the DMV area. She mentored and performed with Baltimore Dance Crews Project-Collective and through BDCP, she had the privilege to teach at Young Audiences: Summer Arts and Learning Academy. She also studied with various hip hop groups around Baltimore - Major Definition, Culture Shock DC, Johns Hopkins SLAM Hip Hop and Capital Funk. After her first semester of college, Miss Deanna dreamed of working for the mouse. She moved to Orlando, FL and made those dreams happen when she earned her ears working at Walt Disney World. During the next four years, she performed daily at Magic Kingdom and EPCOT and got the opportunity to dance down Main Street USA in the nighttime spectacular, Spectromagic. Growing up she performed with Bluestone Academy and the Blonn Dance Academie for over 10 years. As an avid convention circuit goer, she earned many scholarships and recognitions from Tremaine Dance Convention, West Coast Dance Explosion, NYCDA and was an UDA All-Star. Since 2007, she’s choreographed for several dance teams and dance companies throughout the Chicagoland area. After returning to her hometown, Miss Deanna worked for The Dailey Method-Naperville and taught barre classes for two years. This is where she sparked a new love for teaching adult fitness. It immediately drew her in and led her to develop a new boutique dance studio that caters to every age. Now the proud Owner and Artistic Director of Versa5, she continues to teach and share her passion for dance. When she’s not at the studio, she enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter and their two pups, a french bulldog, Minnie, and a rescue pup, Ralph.
