Dance Instructor + Company Director
MONICA CARROW LOUNSBURY grew up in Edwardsville, IL dancing competitively in the St. Louis area. She fell in love with modern dance during her studies at Columbia College Chicago’s Dance Center, from which she graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance with a concentration in Pedagogy. Since then, Monica has performed throughout the Midwest with many modern dance artists and companies, most notably as principal dancer and Rehearsal Director for Jay-Son Tisa Dance Company, and as a main company dancer for Dropshift Dance. When she’s not teaching dance, you might find Monica practicing yoga, reading a book, or just hanging out at home with her husband and dog, Tom and Easel. She’s very excited to begin her fifth season teaching at VERSA5 and working with the Versafied Dance Company.
