2024-2025 REGISTRATION is OPEN!

Season VIII starts on Monday September 9, 2024!

VERSA5 includes a vast range of youth classes. All our youth classes are led by instructors with a college education in dance.

At the beginning of every session students are subject to a one-time, non-refundable fee of $25 per student, $40 per two students, or $50 for three students or more. Class pricing starts at $80 per month and multiple class discount if you enroll in more than one class. More information about pricing, dress code, etc is is included in our Season VIII Registration Packet. Check out the schedule above and begin registration. You’ll create an account with StudioLAB and be able to enroll your dancer in their age-appropriate classes.

Class Descriptions:

DiscoverTots (Ages 2-3) is a 30-minute class, is designed to introduce movement exploration, interpersonal and intrapersonal skills, and classroom structure. Throughout class the students use props, teacher-led games, and sing-along songs. One parent or guardian is welcome to watch during class to encourage student interaction.

DiscoverDance (Ages 3-4 and Ages 4-5) is a 45-minute class, that is a joyful way for children to explore movement through music, develop physical skills, channel energy, stimulate imagination and promote creativity. Dress code: leotard dress, classic pink tights, and classic pink leather ballet shoes. Boys should wear black ballet leather shoes, shorts, and a white t-shirt.

KinderCombo (Grades K-1) This class is appropriate for the first-year dance student. In this combination class, students will practice 45-min of ballet, jazz, and/or tap. They will begin to learn more about rhythm, coordination, and basic terminology. As an introduction to ballet with beginning development of ballet concepts including turnout, coordination, spatial awareness, and a specific focus on class etiquette. Dress code: leotard dress, classic pink tights, classic pink leather ballet shoes and black leather mary jane tap shoes. Boys should wear black ballet leather shoes, shorts, and a white t-shirt.

BEG Combo (Grades 1+) This class introduces dancers to the genre and basic technical skills of ballet, jazz, and tap. It continues to build on the dancer’s style and confidence while working on musicality and movement retention. Dress code: Leotard, short or leggings, tights, ballet shoes, black tie tap shoes, and slip-on jazz shoes. The recommended grade levels are Grades 1+.

INT Combo (Grades 3+) This class build upon BEG Combo and continues teaching technical skills of ballet, jazz, and tap. It continues to build on the dancer’s style and confidence while working on musicality and movement retention. Dress code: Leotard, short or leggings, tights, ballet shoes, black tie tap shoes, and slip-on jazz shoes. The recommended grade levels are Grades 3+

Ballet focuses on technique, proper body alignment, terminology, and musicality. Students will be introduced to barre, center work, and across the floor. Each level progresses in difficulty within these focuses. Students are able to advance upon curriculum and instructor approval. Dress code: black leotard, classic pink tights, and classic pink ballet shoes. (Levels I and II require leather ballet shoes; Levels III, IV, and V require canvas ballet shoes.) Recommended age depends on level or upon instructor approval. *We offer Pre-Pointe/Pointe for instructor-approved students.*

Jazz introduces students to learn the beginning steps of jazz and work on picking up choreography sequences that combine style and technique. Each level progresses in difficulty within these focuses. Students are able to advance upon curriculum and instructor approval. Dress code: black leotard, short or leggings, dark tan tights, and slip-on dark tan jazz shoes. Recommended age depends on level or upon instructor approval.

Tap students begin to learn more about rhythm, coordination and basic tap terminology. Each level progresses in difficulty within these focuses. Students are able to advance upon curriculum and instructor approval. Dress Code: black leotard, shorts or leggings, dark tan tights, and tap shoes. (KinderCombo and Level I require black leather mary jane tap shoes. Levels II, III, and IV/V require black tie tap shoes.) Recommended age depends on level or upon instructor approval.

Contemporary this contemporary class covers specific modern dance styles including Graham, Laban, Limon, and Horton technique. This class will include a full warm-up, across the floor progressions, improvisation and center combination focusing on quality of movement and expression. Dress code: leotard, shorts or leggings, tights, and tan slip-on jazz shoes or bare feet. Recommended age depends on level or upon instructor approval.

Musical Theater (Grades 1+) students learn theatrical, vocal and dance skills through songs, scenes and games. Dress code: black leotard, shorts or leggings, dark tan tights, and dark tan jazz shoes.

Hip Hop class introduces the fundamental moves of hip hop through across the floor and center combinations. This high energy class with emphasize musicality, coordination, footwork, improvisation, strength building and style. Each level progresses in difficulty within these focuses. Students are able to advance upon curriculum and instructor approval. Dress code: Comfortable clothing and clean sneakers. (No baggy pants or jeans.) Recommended age depends on level or upon instructor approval.
